Maternity Care

For the providers of Pali Women’s Health Center, welcoming your baby into the world is one of the most exciting aspects of our practice. We feel privileged to be part of the most special day of your life, and we will provide the highest standard of care possible for you and your baby from day one.

From prenatal care to the delivery of your precious new bundle of joy, our Oahu obstetricians will be with you every step of the way and support whatever childbirth plan you choose. If you wish to deliver your baby naturally, we will provide the medical resources necessary to ensure a safe delivery. If you need help deciding on a birth plan, our knowledgeable staff of all female doctors will be more than happy to help you make an educated decision that is best for you and your baby.

Our OB doctors deliver exclusively at Castle Medical Center, where the beautiful new Vera Zilber Birth Center suites include jacuzzi tubs and breathtaking views of the Ko‘olau Range. We encourage you to tour the hospital and register as soon as possible.

Philosophy of Care:

Home Births: In accordance with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the physicians of Pali Women’s Health Center (PWHC) do not advocate or support home births. The safest place for delivery, for both mother and infant, is in a medical facility that is prepared to immediately respond to a maternal or neonatal emergency. PWHC does not have any agreements with any home birth attendants to provide “back-up” care for patients with a failed home birth. In the event of a failed home birth, it is our opinion that these patients should be treated at a medical facility that has a neonatal intensive care unit so the most specialized neonatal services are immediately available. PWHC does not provide prenatal care for patients planning a home birth as that is not consistent with our recommendation and compromises our professional standards.
